Walking grade - Challenger

Snowdonia, Tryfan
The Lake District, Blencathra
The Lake District, Helvellyn (via Striding Edge)
The Lake District, Scafell Pike

5 – 7 hrs
   
Average distance:
10 - 15 km (6 - 9 miles)
   
Ascent to the Summit:
Mountain ascents of 700 - 900 metres. In excess of 1000+ metres in Scotland.
   
Key points:
- Our most rugged routes
- Rugged mountainous terrain
- Exposed scrambles or ridges
- No man-made intervention
- Head for heights essential
- Previous hill walking experience desirable
- Good stamina and fitness essential
- Good balance required
