The Lake District's breathtaking scenery, acres of green pastureland and abundance of lakes, makes it one of the most valued and visited hill-walking regions in England.
It stretches for over 2,292 square kilometres and includes wonderful scenery, breathtaking peaks, picturesque fells, more than 15 lakes and numerous villages. The Lake District is also home to some of England's highest summits.
